Poll Tools and Their Magic!

Polls are a quick, easy and interactive way to begin a classroom discussion, find out what students know about a topic, what they would like to know and engage them in interactive ways, through using laptops and even mobile devices.

A program I often use for its simplicity (but it is certainly not the only one!) is FLISTI.

You create your questions and provide option for answers. You can work with yes/no answers. You can create multiple choice options and even work with opinion types of options.

Once your poll is created, you can grab the text to post it on a blog or a wikipage (or even your own web page) and the game begin!

Share the link of your page with your students when you think it best fits the lesson sequence, and ask them to answer the questions as you pose them. Students can answer by accessing the page from their computers or even through their smart phones or android devices.

Show and share the results which are bound to spark interest.
